JULY 31-AUG 1:  CONCORD UNIVERSITY’S STUFF THE BUS CAMPAIGN IS NOW COLLECTING DONATIONS AT THE CONCORD’S ATHENS AND BECKLEY CAMPUSES.  THERE WILL BE TWO LARGE COLLECTION DATES SCHEDULED AT THE BECKLEY WAL MART ON FRIDAY JULY 31ST FROM 6-9PM AND ON SATURDAY AUGUST 1ST FROM NOON TO 3PM.

AUG 1:  HUGE YARD SALE AT DR. ELLINGTONS OFFICE PARKING LOT.  112 UNDERCLIFF TERRACE, LOCATED DIRECTLY OFF RT.20 IN PRINCETON.  ALL PROCEEDS GO TO BENEFIT THE WEST VIRGINIA BREAST AND CERVICAL CANCER SCREENING PROGRAM.  ALL THE MONEY STAYS IN THIS AREA! YARD SALE AND BAKE SALE FROM 7AM- UNTIL EVERYTHING IS SOLD OUT!

AUG 3:  REGISTRATION FOR K-5TH GRADE STUDENTS WHO ARE NEW TO MERCER COUNTY SCHOOLS WILL TAKE PLACE BETWEEN 8:30AM-3:30PM AT: ATHENS, MEMORIAL, MONTCALM, SPANISHBURG, STRALEY AND SUN VALLEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS.

AUG 4:  REGISTRATIONS FOR NEW K-5TH GRADE STUDENTS WHO RESIDE IN THE BLUEFIELD INTERMEDIATE, BLUEWELL, BRUSHFORK, CERES, GLENWOOD, LASHMEET/MATOAKA, MELROSE, MERCER, OAKVALE, PRINCETON PRIMARY AND WHITEHORN ATTENDANCE AREAS WILL BE HELD BETWEEN 8:30AM AND 3:30PM

AUG 6:  CANNING 101 AT CRAFT MEMORIAL LIBRARY.  TEENS AND ADULTS WIL LEARN THE BASICS OF CANNING.  THE EXTENSION OFFICE WILL TEST THE PRESSURE CANNER DIAL GAUGE FOR ANY PARTICIPANT DURING CLASS FREE OF CHARGE.

AUG 6:  SUPERFOODS CLASS AT CRAFT MEMORIAL LIBRARY.  THIS WEEK IS BEETASTIC.  PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN ALL ABOUT BEES AND MAKE A BEESWAX LIP BALM.

AUG 7:  HAROLD AND THE PURPLE CRAYON.  PRESENTED AT THE CHUCK MATHENA CENTER. WITH SWEET FROG IN THE ROTUNDA FROM 5-6:45PM WITH ICE CREAM $5 PER CUP!  SHOW STARTS AT 7PM AND TICKETS ARE $12 CHILD/$15 ADULT

AUG 7,8,9:  PRINCETON HIGH SCHOOL MADRIGAL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT.  BOYS AND GIRLS TEAMS WELCOME IN MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL AGES,  MEN’S TEAMS AND OR CO-ED IN THE ADULT AGE GROUP.  COST IS $175 PER TEAM, WITH A MAXIMUM OF 10 PLAYERS PER TEAM.  DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS JULY 31ST.  TEAMS MAY REGISTER BY PHONE, TEXT OR EMAIL TO MANDY OR HERMAN BROWN AT 304-922-8263 OR 304-922-8264 BY EMAIL AT THE5BROWNZ@GMAIL.COM ALL PROCEEDS GO TO THE PRINCETON HIGH SCHOOL MADRIGALS
